James Barron
Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, UNC Healthhe/him/his
James Barron is Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the UNC Health Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. His duties focus on system-wide initiatives in the development and implementation of an Employee Resource Groups Inclusion Initiative and development on a DEI Strategy to enhance inclusion and equity programming that delivers on the mission of UNC Health to improve the health of all North Carolinians and other whom we serve.
James has worked in Equal Employment and Diversity and Inclusion for over twenty years, first as a consultant with N. Darlene Walker & Associates, then at UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and most recently at Cleveland Clinic in the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and in Employee Relations.
James received his Bachelor of Arts in Italian Literature and Language and Diploma in Labour Relations and the Law from the University of Sydney and Master of Arts in Human Resource Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
