Dr. Torri Staton is the Director of Equitable Economic Development at the Raleigh Chamber.

In her employment experience – she is a leadership professional who specializes in workforce and professional development, investor engagement, and equitable business practices for creativity, innovation, retention and profit. She’s also a Higher Education professional who specializes in college access, student retention, and student support.

In her scholarship, she has specialized in qualitative research, narrative research, Black Studies and African American Studies, Film and Media Studies, Popular Culture, Critical Multicultural Education, and Women and Gender Studies. Torri has a breadth of research experience specifically grounded in Cultural Studies.
